Ford Focus Electric, Ford Focus Motor Company, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, announced today that the Ford Focus Powertrain has surpassed the Chevrolet Volt for the top spot in the U.S. market for plug-in electric cars.
The Ford Focus Volt has a starting price of $52,490 and a starting range of 265 miles.
The Ford Focus is the only electrified vehicle to earn the distinction of ranking first for overall sales.
The Volt’s performance was also higher than the Volt, which is powered by an 85 kWh battery and has a range of 220 miles.
Focus Electric is now the #1 electric vehicle in the United States, behind only the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Tesla Model 3 and the Nissan Leaf.
The new leader of the plug-ins race is the Chevrolet Bolts new Plug-in Hybrid, which has an EPA-estimated EPA-rated range of 238 miles.
Ford is expected to release its electric Chevrolet Volt in early 2020.
